Artworks Open Day
Families are invited to drop in and enjoy the Artworks Open Day between 10am and 3pm.
An opportunity for children and young people to spread their artistic wings
On Saturday 18 July 2026, the Warkworth Masonic Hall will be transformed into a vibrant
creative hub where children and young people can explore a variety of artistic mediums.
A range of hands-on art stations, guided by experienced local artists, will include fabric screen
printing, collage, modelling, drawing and painting. Children and young people aged 5 to 12 can
try each activity, experiment with different techniques, and create artworks to take home.
Young artists simply need to bring their imagination, creativity and sense of adventure — all
materials and tools will be provided.
This free community event has been generously supported by the Creative Communities
Scheme, Auckland Council, Making Art Work, the Rodney Local Board, and local artists.
Warkworth Library will also provide an activity on the day.
Artworks is a community project of Coastal Heritage Art (CHArt), which also organises an
annual local schools art competition and exhibition. Keep an eye out for this year’s exhibition in
November 2026.
