9:00am to 2:00pm
meet at Huapai District School, 40 Station Road
Residents of Huapai are being called on to roll up their sleeves for a neighbourhood cleanup event this spring, aimed at tidying up the local area while bringing the community closer together.
The Huapai Triangle Community Cleanup will take place on Saturday, 17 October 2026, from 9:00am to 2:00pm, with a rain date set for Sunday, 25 October if the weather doesn’t cooperate. Volunteers are asked to meet at Huapai District School, 40 Station Road.
Organisers say the event is about more than just picking up rubbish. After two hours of cleanup work around the Huapai Triangle, participants will be treated to a free picnic and barbecue lunch, complete with live local music. Bouncy castles will keep younger children entertained throughout the day.
Those interested in joining a cleanup team can contact Leonard Bloksberg by phone or text on 027 290 7891.
This event is supported by the Rodney Community team thanks to funding from the Rodney Local Board. We support community events all across Rodney so that all locals have opportunities to connect in interesting and accessible ways.
