Who I am:
Jess — Community Facilitator for the Warkworth to Milldale area, supporting stronger connections across Rodney.
Home base:
Proud to call Warkworth home. It’s a place where community isn’t just a word — it’s something you feel. Neighbours know each other, children are safe, and people genuinely show up for one another.
Community moments I love:
Local events like Carol by Candlelight and the Christmas Parade bring that spirit to life. Watching tamariki celebrated, families smiling, and volunteers working behind the scenes reminds me how special this district is. These events are joyful, inclusive, and built on care — a real example of what Rodney does well.
What drives my mahi:
My goal is to enhance what already exists by empowering local groups to lead more of it themselves. I work alongside community organisers, clubs, service groups, and passionate locals to help them bring their own ideas to life — whether that’s events, workshops, youth programmes, arts, wellbeing initiatives, or neighbourhood projects.
Growing together across suburbs:
Milldale is one of our newest and fastest-growing communities. I’m focused on supporting it to feel deeply connected, resourced, and genuinely loved as part of the wider Rodney district. Collaboration between neighbouring suburbs — sharing knowledge, spaces, tools, and support — is key to making that happen.
