Join us for the next Flow88 Skate Event in Matakana! Sunday October 18th 2026 1pm to 3pm
On Sunday 30th August, Matakana’s keenest skate, scooter, and bike riders gathered at the Matakana Pumptrack for Flow 88’s Flow Sessions. Riders warmed up on the track before Christina from Flow 88 brought everyone together for a group “train” ride, cruising to the music. Mr Whippy kept energy levels topped up with ice creams throughout the day. In between rides, kids got creative and decorated the track with chalk art.
Riders aged four to teens showed off their skills, with prizes awarded for style, competence, and track etiquette. The overall winner took home a new skateboard, sponsored by Summer Sessions. It was fantastic to see kids pushing themselves with new tricks while staying respectful and supportive of one another.
The next Flow Sessions event is set for October 18th — see you there!
Round up your crew and roll into FLOW88’s second FLOW Session! All wheels are welcome—skateboards, scooters, BMX and balance bikes. Join the skate comp, group ride, chalk art jam and creative challenges, with skateboard decks and art prizes up for grabs. It’s all about style, creativity, kindness and confidence, celebrating the best of the Matakana community. Be yourself. Full Style. Full Flow.
