14/09/2026: Upgrades/renewals, Recreation

There’s plenty happening at Green Road Park in Dairy Flat, with a few more pieces of the puzzle starting to fall into place.

Coming up this summer are a toilet, mounting block, picnic tables and seats, with more pathways and an internal bridge to Sunnyside Road also planned for this financial year.

There’s another idea taking shape too — the Friends of Green Road would like to create an Avenue of Trees through the park. Landowner approval is underway, with fundraising for the trees to follow.

If you’d like to help bring the Avenue of Trees to life, get in touch with Rodney Local Board member Lisa Whyte.

The additions will keep building on the work already underway at Green Road and create more ways for people to spend time in the park.

And with a toilet on the way, community events at Green Road are also becoming a much more realistic possibility.

Bit by bit, Green Road Park is taking shape — and there’s plenty more to come.
