Community Facilitator - Wellsford
I help connect people, back local initiatives and encourage new ideas that bring people together.
Kia ora! I’m Kiri, and I’ve recently stepped into the role of Community Facilitator for the Wellsford area to support community-led ideas, events and activities. I help connect people, back local initiatives and encourage new ideas that bring people together.
My background is in community wellbeing and social services, and I’ve spent many years working alongside communities from Warkworth through to Kaiwaka, supporting programmes, partnerships and initiatives that help people thrive. Through that work I’ve seen how powerful it is when people feel connected to each other and to the place they live.
Alongside this, I’ve also been involved in the music industry, singing, teaching and writing music. I’ve always been drawn to the ways creativity, stories and shared experiences can bring people together and give a place its own sense of spirit.
Over the next while I’ll be getting out and about meeting as many groups and locals as I can to learn about what’s already happening in Wellsford, and where there might be opportunities to grow more activities, events and connections in the community.
