Spotlight on Songwriters

We’re shining a light on original music this May and are looking for 3-4 songwriters to feature in an intimate live session at the Wellsford Library. Whether you’re a young artist or a seasoned songwriter, this is a chance to share your own work in a welcoming, community-focused space.
Solo and duo acts welcome. A PA will be provided.

Confirmed songwriters:
AVYA
Avya is a 26-year-old New Zealand artist from Tomarata. Her sound blends folk and pop—intimate, melodic, and sincere. After placing fifth on Popstars, she became a three-time NZ On Air recipient, with songs charting nationally and featuring on major streaming playlists.
With a decade of live performance experience, Avya has played extensively across Aotearoa, both solo and with a band, appearing on national TV and radio. She has opened for artists including Jeremy Redmore, Jason Kerrison, and Jamie McDell, bringing a warm, grounded presence and genuine passion to her craft.
RA GOSSAGE
Ra Gossage is an artist from Pakiri Beach. Having a great appreciation for soul, folk, and jazz and influenced by musicians such as Ricki Lee Jones & Van Morrison, Gossage’s songs are heartfelt and delivered with a unique and soulful voice.
