New Rodney Community Team Launches

Thanks to support from the Rodney Local Board, a new community development team is getting underway in Rodney; the Rodney Community team. Our team is bringing people and resources together to give locals fun and accessible things to do together to strengthen community connections and resilience. In particular, we have a huge focus on revitalising Rodney’s community hubs and shared spaces so that they are welcoming and vibrant for all to enjoy.

 What does this mean for you?

• New programmes for leisure, learning and play for all ages
• Lots of new local opportunities for arts, culture, heritage and events
• Community spaces you want to use because they are more attractive, vibrant, liveable and fun
• Better quality jobs for local people and more local opportunities for learning, training and skills development 
• More youth focused activities and events like those created during the Rodney Youth Project 2024-2025 pilot  

Our team covers the entire Rodney Local Board area with Community Facilitators based in Warkworth-Milldale, Mahurangi – Rodney East, Wellsford, Helensville/South Kaipara and Kumeu wider areas. As well as a Play, Rec & Youth Coordinator who works Rodney-wide.
